Re: stock

Hi Waynem
check out the website home page..." what the press say about us".

The lake is approx 12 acres, I don't know carp numbers, but on a sunny day you can see that their numbers are substantial, they run to a tad under 40.
they are a superb old species of commons and mirrors.

18 years in the club...?? let's keep in touch, I would like to introduce you to some of the Top Rod Carp anglers, they will provide you with all the info you need.

Re: stock

get down there and speak to people,, look around the lake yourself, i wouldnt go to much on what other people say.

make your own mind up about the place, but first have a wonder down you can walk round as it is a public park.
if you ask people politely, im sure there will be someone willing to answer any questions for you, all i know, is there are some descent carp in there, willing to feed at some point during the next few days, dunno where, dunno when.......well im not saying as got a good idea of where they will be........get walking boots out...rods out......give it a go !!!

Re: The Rain Cometh

hi eddie,
i took a walk around batchworth today and spotted someone camping in the woods on the opposite bank of the lake to the river (not too familiar with the lake, excuse bad description). i know this doesn't neccessarily mean they're poachers, but i thought it best to let you know,so the regulars can keep an eye out.
cheers
paul.

Re: Re: The Rain Cometh

Thank you Paul
I have previously reported the "camper" to the local police and the three rivers council. He has been investigated and apparently is just a guy down on his luck. I have done my own investigation, he is not interested in fishing or fish. I do not have the authority to move him on and the police and council are happy to turn a blind eye.
Nevertheless, many thanks for your vigilance.

The Battle Continues

"Big R" has overtaken "L".... I think the number of fish this year has passed the 80 mark... " L" is hot on his heels.
Busy lake tonight despite the last couple of weeks being slower than of late.

Dead as a dodo

Having been subjected to a second dunking ( this time removing a tree from the ski hut ) my mobile 07806 701231 has deceased... it appears the SIM card has also died, but is currently with the phone shop for investigation.

I am now using 07890 290634

Apologies to those trying to make contact over last couple of days.

Re: weed

Hi Arron

Had a bash for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon with the lure. Not that great a session for me though, conditions was not great, the sun was shining fully so decided to fish the shaded side of the islands and blanked. The weed is defiantly dying down and is fine for lure fishing. Theres still quite allot on the bottom, but from what i can gather the top 3-4 foot of water is relitivly clear.

I will be returning the weekend, its a must time of year at the moment for lure fishing batchworth.

Pike

Is batchworth any good for lure fishing. Tried the golf course lake ( north lake) last season but the only bit of action was my 10 year old son going knee deep in a boggy trench, very funny at the time ( allthough the misses didn't see it that way. ) guessing there must be some big pike and lure fishing would be a good way to search such a big water for them. Any advice would be a great help

cheers.

Re: Pike

Hi Andy
As per my reply below to Zeke ( 18th ) Batchworth is a good lure venue at the right time of year... and that time is now !!!
The weed is dying off which is the major problem for lure anglers.... lots of jacks to get through before the larger fish show. Margins and around the two islands are favourite locations.
Keep us updated.

Predator Group

Had a little spell with Dave and Chris yesterday, it was only a couple of hours as we had been doing a workparty on the river. Sadly we blanked, despite a good quantity of chopped worm going in, the Perch never materialised. I did have some interest shown on a huge lobworm, and there were signs of fish activity.
We fished around the sluice inlet ( Tesco Bay ).
Sadly, Neil, Simon and Bigus Nickus were tied up at work... but they will join us on the next outing.
Two top rods on the lake last night... L and R
Any bets as to who caught the most and biggest.... what are their tallies now ??
Missus R.... drop us a line with the facts.

Re: Predator Group

Hi Eddie,
Mrs R here, both top rods blanked on last visit, yes it does happen, tallies are R on 82 and L on 73 but i'm sure L will be trying his best to even the score( secretly hoping he doesn't manage it). I'll drop you a line with the latest updates on the scores.

Predator Group at Ricky

Friday 23rd, we are having a workparty on the river starting at 10.00am, ( behind the ski-hut ) but later in the day we shall move onto Batchworth Lake to try for one of the big Perch which are never targetted.
Come along... say hi... join the workparty if you can...or come later for the fishing session.

Re: Predator Group at Ricky

Hi Eddie

Any results from this session??? I ,v been meaning to have a go at predator fishing this venue but still haven't got round to it yet. My preferred method is lure fishing, do people get results fishing this method or is it all about dead baiting..

Re: Re: Predator Group at Ricky
