Re: Batchworth

Hi Will

Night permits are available only to senior members, i.e. 18 years and over.
I know this is most upsetting for many juniors, however, insurance issues, safety issues etc have demanded that this rule MUST be adhered to.
Will... many many great fish have come from Batchworth in the hours of daylight. TRUE !!!
Hope to see you there soon.
Eddie

Billet lane

I am a new member and fished with a hair rig for the first time last week. Our angling shop in Eastcote spent a little time with me and my dad to show us a simple rig. We fished Billet on wednesday 2nd september, with boilies, lunchen meat and pellets. I wasnt there long before the the rod started to twitch, I left it but then 5 minutes later the rod really started to go, 15 minutes later i was weighing a 16lb 8oz carp the biggest fish i have ever cought , followed by a 13lb carp all cought in meat. I now hold the recored in the morris house for the biggest fish!!!!!!!!

Top of the range model

Hi Guys and Gals.
Great news for the Rovers... we now have on board a qualified angling coach who is to take our junior members to a new level.
Mark Everard is now going to control the junior section and I can't wait to see the changes.
Elliot and Harry will still remain as group leaders, and I am sure they will be thrilled to have a great angler like Mark take them under his wings.

youngsters poaching lakes

hello everyone,

i have had it on good authority that there have been youngsters poaching local lakes and putting carp into the aky. there are people / bailiffs on patrol at all times......be warned as you might get a shock as people do not take kindly to having carp which they are trying to catch removed.

Re: youngsters poaching lakes

Hi James
Thanks for your input, I would ask that if you have any information relating to fish movement you contact me immediately.
Koi Herpes Virus is still within the Colne Valley, and irresponsible moving of fish ( apart from being totally illegal ) puts all of our fish at risk.
Be vigilant at all times.

Elliot

Well done and a big thanks to Elliot for dealing positively with the European poachers today on the Colne and on Batchworth Lake.
Although I arrived on the scene some 15 minutes after Elliot's call , he had already sent them packing after first pointing out the error of their ways in fishing, not only without the necessary licences, but without a landing net.
Great job Elliot... As senior junior representative, you have set an example to many adult members present at the same time.

Big thanks to young Matthew who chipped in on the work around Batchworth lake.

Well done Harry, you will have to give this old boy some tips! I wish you and all your mates good luck with your new role in U.R.A.C.S. I can see the same enthusiasm in you as i had all those years ago back in the 50's. Harry never let it go! Life will have it's ups and downs over the years for you, but fishing will aiways be there to pick you up.Young anglers like you are the life blood and future for angling and the club, who knows you could be the next Uxbridge Chairman! or maybe the next Matt Hayes!I am off to Florida next week chasing Tarpon with Keith Arthur, you can be sure i will be telling him all about you and your new role, you will have to talk to him on 'Fishermans blues' live on air and convey to the nation just what our sport can do for our countrys young people. Keep it up buddy.

Batchworth Lake Captures

Hi all,

was down on Batchworth Lake on monday for a short 2 night session, carp have started to feed now.
I went down with a friend and we had a good haul. We had 6 carp and two tench between us ranging from 17lb to 29lb 9oz, and both tench at 6lb.

All the fish seem to be around the islands at the min, had all of the fish from it.

We need to see some more juniours posting any captures on the forum, and also any info that may help any other juniour anglers.

Tight lines to all
